A bow for Brent. . .Dryad SoothSayer (horn)
« on: January 13, 2008, 07:52:00 PM »
Well it's been awhile since we hunted with Brent Driggers and had the conversation about the possibility of a horn SoothSayer.  We had to engineer the bow, build prototypes, experience failure, but all and all I think it turned out. . .GREAT!!!  This bow is 66" ntn and pulls 60# @ 28"

The riser view:

The Canebrake back:

And the horn belly:

So what do ya think?

What kind of horn do you use, Mike?

Do you use hide glue for joining the horn to the core?

And do you groove the core and horn for a better/larger gluing surface?

Beautiful piece of workmanship. Love them snake skins!

That bow is ALMOST too pretty to shoot. Almost...
Thanks again Mike.
I have a dozen heavy footed douglas firs waiting on her and hog season kicks in any day now.
I am going to post more pics when it gets here, because I know that those up top dont quite do that bow justice.
