Anti's and Managed Deer Hunts
« on: October 21, 2009, 04:10:00 PM »
Below are a few links to some anti hunting activist’s radio conversation and some antics that are happening locally around the KC area. The radio interview is quite lengthy but it will give you a good indication of how anti hunters think and the extremes that they are willing to go to stop us from hunting.

This year I and a few other Trad Gang members are participating in a local managed deer hunt around the KC area on the Missouri side within the KC city limits. These hunts have successfully been going on for a few years without incidence from the public or negative press. All of the parks remain open to the general public during the hunt and we (the people who were drawn for the hunt) are to go about our business with instructions from the biologist to be respectful of the public by keeping our dead deer covered when leaving the park. But on the Kansas side of the city, a mere 25+- miles away, the local parks commission is dealing with extremes from the opposite end of the spectrum.

At Shawnee Mission Park, the biologists have estimated that there are approximately 200 deer per square mile within a 3.5 mile area. To reduce the deer population, the parks department elected to bring in police sharpshooters and shoot the deer at night. Their goal is to bring the population down to 50 deer per square mile. This, of course, has the local activist groups extremely riled up. In particular, this guy has been doing some off the wall stunts to gain media attention.

Here are links to a radio conversation between three anti hunters discussing the evils of hunting and their vision of how they would like to stop all hunting around the world.

Gotta love the bunny huggers.  Let the poor things die from malnutrition and call it nature at work. Sometimes I wonder why I spent 8 years serving my country and 1.5 years risking my hide overseas so they could sit over here and be stupid.  I guess I can look at the upside and at least know that most of the people know they are dumber than a box of rocks.

The guy admits we started hunting small animals; and then went on to hunting bigger animals; and then denies we were ever hunters.... what?
He also dismisses that people were ever hunters; and I say: what about Pygmies; which are still hunters - and the native American 'Indians' that had hunting societies here in America and Canada..
The rest of the world is full of hunters; from New Guinea to Australia to the Eskimos; to African hunters - to all the cave paintings...
 This guy is an idiot.
But he makes good money off the ignorant !!

This Wedgehead is on TV here way to much. He's just a media whore.

It's been stated by the organizers of this that They will be donating the meat to area food pantries. And hides will be donated to a group who will use them to produce gloves for wheelchair bound Veterans.

I'm sure He hasn't done anything to help anyone but Himself. You're right Brian this guy is a IDIOT!!!

the reason all this goes on is because these people are denyers -by nature.

They cannot look at themselves with an objective eye- they deny heritage, history, culture, reason and fact, because it doesn't fit with the little world they "believe" they live in.

They surround themselves with other denyers and feed off one another.

They are miserable people, and want everyone else to be miserable. How else could they accomplish that without causing you pain?

They read the writings of Singer (creator of the animal rights movement- MOVEMENT being the operative word there) and chanting "we are the world, we are the children" "kumbaya" and "save the whales/stop the nukes/fur sucks/fishing hurts" ad nauseum.

If you are busy trying to stop an activity someone else finds satisfaction in you don't have time to examine how miserable your own life is!

Cheer up- we don't have to worry about the KOOK fringe...concentrate on the 80% between us and them- those are the folks who will decide our fate.

Don't break the law- don't trespass- be curteous to other hunters- share your bounty- invite non hunters to your home for a wild game dinner- try to be a part of the solution and not a part of the problem and we'll be fine.

He needs to be fighting for gerbel's rights.  I'm sure after that interview he called his boyfriend and told him to stop by PetsMart to pick up a six pack of gerbels for late night festivities

Not necessarily so and I guess it depends on how broadly you define "KOOK fringe".

Right now groups like the Audabon Society and Defenders of Wildlife are using the Endangered Species Act to deny hunters and fisherman access to historical areas and traditional activities via the Endangered Species Act.  Ask the surf fishermen of Cape Hatteras and the business owners of Hatteras Island how those groups have used pseudo science concerning the piping plover and other shore birds to drastically curtail fishing access and ravage the economy of the region.
