Anyone now if the threat at loosing nearly 25 million in funds from the feds is real if they open areas up to horses?

Seems one side says we face loosing it while the side pushing for the changes.

I am all for opening opportunities for people in the outdoors... unless we face loosing 25 million for a department that is already short on funds.

Anyone have any insight into this?

The threat is very real.  The Federal funds we receive from the Feds come with strings attached.  One of those strings is limiting horses to private lands only.

The Mountain Bike people have lots of lobbyists believe it or not and they simply don't like sharing the trails.  So they've pushed through the thought that horses are responsible for the spread of some noxious vegetation on public lands from their droppings.
