KY CROSSBOW BILL (HB417)
« on: February 26, 2013, 06:29:00 AM »
Attention KY archers.  HB417 is new legislation introduced this week that will allow crossbows in the entire archery season in Kentucky.  Call now!!!! The number is 1-800-372-7181 and ask to send a message of opposition to the Natural Resources and Environment Committee...also ask them to send a message to your representative and Senator.

Also call 1-502-564-8100 and ask to leave a message with Rep. F Steele and tell him that Bowhunters across the State are opposed to HB 417...Act now!!!

Maybe not, NY has kept them completely out of the archery season for over 20 years now.  Might happen someday, but they haven't been able to just walk in and bastardize the archery season.  Good luck KY.

Calls from UBK members (including this one) kept this bill from being "run with" by Rep. Steele.

You'd be amazed what just a handful of calls, for or against something can influence.

Kentucky has about 72 days of x-bow hunting which begins about 1 month after bow season starts, stops in late October, and then picks up again during and after the firearms season. No big deal to this bowhunter and I've despised the machine for decades.
