Pop Up Blind?

Just wondering if you set up a ground blind and leave it for a while do you still need to have the mesh on the windows when hunting whitetails? Do they ever get used to the black holes? I have a place of my own now and would like to set a blind in a marshy area the dear are using. I hate looking through shoot through mesh. Sure would be nice to have a blind over my head on rainy days.

I set my Double bull up and lave it in place for days at a time sometimes a week at a time but have never had a problem setting it up the day of the hunt. If you are going to leave it make sure it is brushed up good and the deer will not pay much attention to it.
As far as the mesh I dont use it and dont think it makes much difference if you keep it dark inside.

I cut small slits in the mesh on the ones I set up for clients. They're mostly gun hunters and can just slip the muzzle out the slit to shoot. For bows, I usually dress real dark and keep movement to a minimum, with the screen out on the opening with the highest probability of a shot, and leave the screens on the others, to help hide my outline and movement.

I leave the mesh in you will have no trouble shooting through it, the problem with the mesh is just getting use to it being there so you are not distracted by it. I soot a 64" Hill out of my matrix 360 and have shot a 66" longbow out of it with no trouble. You just have to be aware of were your tips are at. With a little practice it's easy.

Shot my ww's through some mesh a couple of weeks ago and didnt phase them a bit...got a better tear than some of the guys shooting their compounds out of it..I learned that in early light it is a bit harder to view out of but when the light gets up fairly well no problem...direct sun into it WILL cause some problems

Have used my Double Bull on whitetails in TX. Sat it up and left it, in a couple days the deer were used to it ( at first the black holes bothered them). I have been using this blind for several yrs. A T5 model - recurve. Probably shot 20 turkeys out of it also.
