Everybody here has no doubt heard all the whoopin' and hollerin' over at Shawn Leonard's bunny hunt thread. Obstreperous pack!
The hunt serves as a way to get TradGangers together for fun, and to raise money for Saint Jude's hospital. Joan Leonard is ultimately responsible for this, as without her and Papa Leonard there would be no Shawn, who puts on this hunt, and who honored his mother by naming it the Joan Leonard Memorial Bunny Hunt. I wish I could have met the inspiring woman deserving of this honor, but I am looking forward indeed to meeting Shawn's dad this February. He must be sortov all right.
Is this too long? I'll go make arrows.
No, I don't play that game.
Actually, I write and take tea breaks and write some more, THEN I hit "Add New Topic". I have too much respect for you, my readers, to keep you dangling like scent wicks from a witch hazel limb. I will, however, dawdle like I did in this last paragraph.
OK, here comes the chase scene:
Enter Mike Griffith. Who the heck is Mike Griffith?
I mean mike g. Ah! THAT Mike Griffith! Now you recognize your friend in archery!
I dunno how many know this, but I'm a gurrrlllll. The one stereotypical thing I do is pay attention to sales. Not sales in the mall, or Macy's, or any of those other boring places. I look for them in sporting goods stores, and in our own Sponsors' Classifieds. Well, shooting a banner out across the Powwow forum helps, too. Ya see, Mike splashed out the news that he was having a sale. Gleefully I proceeded to email him with questions, resulting in the ordering of four armguards. One of them was for me, and the rest of them were for the raffle table at the bunny hunt. Mike never gets the order right. You wanna see what came in the mail today? Lookit all this plunder!!
We got eight armguards, the two-tones there are 8" Hunter models, made with Mike's Rough Rider leather, there are three Latigo 3BBs, one of which is a youth model, plus another that is a prototype with silver buttons for the loops, and a couple of 3DBs made from Diamond Tan. I like that leather, so I chose one of the two, the one under Mike's card. On top of that, he sent a pocket quiver and three string keepers!
Mike will never be wealthy if he keeps on like this. He is a very rich man, though, and gives from the heart. Thanks, Mike, from me and the kids of St. Jude's.
