Leather handle wrap
« on: January 19, 2008, 07:17:00 PM »
I am a new member and just put my first year of hunting under my belt.  I shoot traditional and love it.  I got my first bow as a prize for selling seeds from the back page of a comic book; I still have the bow!  Never liked cheater bows.

When I was on my first hunt this year, and being a beginner, I forgot my finger tab at home.  I cut the leather handle wrap I made for my bow to use for a tab.  I always wanted to re-do the handle so no big loss.  I was looking at the "stitch a handle" post in the "How To" section.  I am not able to view the pictures that accompany the instructions. Would anyone be able to help me with this?  Thanks
Rick H.

Hi Rick, welcome to the Gang!  I've used thin leather lace and wrapped the grip on several bows with good results and pretty easy, too.

Where in IL are you?     :campfire:    :coffee:

Thanks for the response.   How do you wrap the grip with thin leather?  I like the look of smooth leather, however, I might consider leather lace.

I live west of Chicago near NIU.

Here's a link to some pictures of a VERY good and easy way to put on a leather grip. It was put on here awhile back but not able to find it anymore. It was done by Razorbak. The pictures appear to be in reverse order so start from the bottom.
