As I continue my practice to improve my accuracy in my backyard, I wanted to start accumulating whatever gear I may need for trad bowhunting; quiver, broadhead, attire?(head to toe).  My goal is to be ready for next years deer season (I wanted to try this year but never found anyone to mentor me, so I"m planning on going next year even if I just stumble like an idiot in the woods).

Can anyone recommend any good books or DVD that start from step one (my Hunter Ed course just covered the basics and laws, etc).

Masters of the Barebow 1&2 in DVD and,  Fred Asbells Instincive shooting 1&2 in Books. There are MANY others.

I agree with getting Asbell's Instinctive Shooting books. But one book that I purchased and found VERY useful when I got started was The Traditional Bowhunter's Handbook by TJ Conrads. This books is an excellent source of imformation that covers just about every topic you'll need to get started. I still frequently refer to this book even after several years of shooting traditional gear.

I'll second TJ's Trad Bowhunters Handbook.  It really is a wealth of info covering all aspects of stickbow shooting and equipment.     :archer:

Sounds like I really need to get Traditional Bowhunter's Handbook, except I can't find it for sale anywhere.  :(

I'll need to get Masters of the Barebow too...at some point.
