Loctite before or after?
« on: January 20, 2008, 05:37:00 PM »
I have a couple bows that have a few of your normal stress cracks, and I want to try to seal/repair them with with Loctite 420 and then refinish the bow.

Do I do use the Loctite before I remove the old finish, or after removing the old finish?

I plan on removing as much finish as possible with cabinet scrapers, then finishing up with sanding before applying the new finish.  Thanks!

Scrub them real good with a tooth brush and alcohol to get as much foreign material out of the crack, then seal and finish sand before finishing, Any sanding etc and the dust will get in the crack and the cracks will show "White" after finishing
