Saw blade steel first knives
« on: February 10, 2008, 08:55:00 PM »
OK guy's I'm gonna try my hand at this. I tried cutting some blades out of a dull 12" miter saw blade & an industrial hacksaw blade (? maybe). Neither one would drill, especially the hacksaw. I tossed everything to the back of the workbench till I read RGK's post, tried the heat thing with the mapp gas. It worked. I don't know how they will turn out but I'm gonna finish them & put one in for the knife swap. Not being very sharp myself I can't sharpen knives worth a hoot but whoever gets it can put the final edge on I guess. Here's what I've got so far (before drilling).  Don
