my first Nessmuk
« on: February 10, 2008, 10:10:00 PM »
Okay boys, here it is, my first Nessmuk knife.  I made this from the same saw blade I have made all my other knives from.  I am considering entering this knife in the swap but, I might not.  I seem to get better with my fit and finish with each knife I build and I really want to swap my best work.  'Nuff said, here's the pics.

Mrs. Stickman has begun the work on the sheath for me.  I soon discovered that I am way too much help.  Sorry dear!

I have complete (well almost) build along pics for this and can post them in another thread or in this one.  If'n the Mods want me to, let me know.

I've decided to keep this pattern and use it again.  It's a little curved in the handle and not quite the right tip to be a true Nessmuk, but I really like the lines and it fits great in my hands.    :)

Oh yeah, the scales are bubinga in the center, osage (fall-off from someones bow at Mo Jam), and jarrah on the outside.  I love that yellow.  :bigsmyl:

I'd be proud to recieve a knife that looked like that.   Feel free to throw it in the swap!  Every knife that is built by hand is special.

I like the curve in the handle.  Another variable in this style seem to be whether the knife drops down from the handle.  Great job!! Larry

Oops!  I forgot to mention the size.  It has a 3 3/8" blade and is 7 1/2" overall.  :knothead:    :)
