damascus and exhibition ironwood
« on: April 10, 2008, 06:33:00 PM »
red/white liners and brass pins with red centers accent this 7 1/8 inch fixed blade. Interesting blade shape with a false blade grind on top.

Polished blade through handle and finger grooves. I really like the shape of this blade.

Ironwood is such an interesting material to work with, its tight, interesting grain pattern that's different in every piece..even off the same piece of stock.

I'm having fun! I apologize for the pictures- I don't know what is up with this camera.

Beautiful work!  That profile and handle really work well together.  I'd like to see a close-up of the pins If you have a shot like that. Are they mosaics?

I can't get this stupid camera to do it, Toe. They are brass pipe, filled with red epoxy, to match the red and white liners that are between the ironwood and the tang.

No...its a blank. Learning to make damascus is the next hurdle...once I get my shop built so I can play with fire without burning down the house.
