W1 Integral/5160 Hunter
« on: July 18, 2008, 07:16:00 PM »
Got two more finished up here today:
First one is a W1 Integral forged from a 7/8" round W1 rod, clay processed heat treatment and a stabilized English Walnut handle.
Second one is a Bakelite Hunter forged from 1" square 5160, using a stainless guard and antique bakelite for the handle.
Both knives are fixed assembly.
Thanks for letting me share, folks!

When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

I really like the blade of the W1 knife.  I assume what I'm seeing is the hamon, thats a wicked one.

Both are great. I like the integral's handle/bolster transition. You just rolled it into the metal. Lin
