Luck

I had some good luck this afternoon.  I went to a metal recycling center, looking for some simple steel, like 1060,1095, etc.  No luck there, but I did come across several lp tanks-the 20# size. Might make a forge, somewhere down the line, says I, to myself. Then, there at my feet, were 2 12" cicular saw blades!! Got them both for about $3.00. What luck!!  Built a hot, hardwood fire in the pit, put them in, turned on the leaf blower, and got them cooking, nice and red.  Buried them in the ashes/coals, with more on top to burn out naturally, and slowly.  This has been a VERY good day.  One hour later, it starts to rain. For about 15 minutes. With "luck", they haven't cooled too quickly.

Are you going to use Zoeller Forge plans, or do you have something else in mind?  p.s. The blades were not only still hard, but warped a bit, as well. Ah, well. One more challenge to attack. lol
