it is all coming together
« on: October 12, 2008, 07:13:00 PM »
After many LONG months of accumulating the things I need to set up a shop, things are finally starting to come together. I spent about 5 hours today doing various things, and I also got to rough grind these blades I forged a couple weeks ago.
Now I just have to clean up the shoulders and tangs a little bit, then I am ready to heat treat. All I need is the oxy acetylene bottles and we are cooking! (oh yeah, and fix the pinholes in my quench tank!)
One of these will go to my best man, another is barter for shop space, and the other two will be testers for a couple buddy's and me.

Thank to all for the encouragement.

Awesome looking blades Tom.

I am glad to see you got some pics up. I have been looking forward to them since Jesse told me you had started making knives.

Thanks Tyler. Hopefully I will get a blade into Jesse's hands before he gets a deer so he can give me some feedback. I am ready to heat treat these in a couple days. should not be long after that until one is finished!

Awesome. I will be over there around Thanksgiving so I will be looking forward to checking out the finished knife you give him to try.
