I think you'll find the Persian inspired one to be uncomfortable in the hand with that extreme sweep.  The traditional Hawk's bill is much straighter and only goes into the bend for the bill after where your hand sits.  

I normally make a mock up of a new design in wood before spending the time on steel... tells you how it feels in the hand without alot of work.

I agree with Jeremy...thats too harsh a curve to work as a user knife...great art piece though.
