A guy at the club who sold my wife her wheelie bow was talking about this last night. He sold her this bow for a couple hundred dollars and a year later bought the same bow for 1500 dollars. She said if I ever spend 1500 for a bow I'd be hanging from the flag pole (or at least parts of me would be). I smiled and said my osage self bow I made cost $5 US for string material.

Rob,

That Ballistik was one heckuva bow. I made a shot of a lifetime with that bow. I was at a Deer Hunting Expo and was the key note speaker. Thye wanted me to talk about safety issues with hunting and I told em i would only come if I could talk traditional bowhunting and techniques, They finally agrees and they had a 3 d course set up for afterwards.

We were standing under a picnic shelter about 50 yards from the first target and they were discussing the course. They told me they had a special stake set up real close for me. I was the only one with trad equipment. I asked em if I had to use that stake and they said no. I shot from right ewhere I was standing and hit the 10 ring...BLEW THEIR MINDS MAN. The next guy pulled up with his compound at 20 yards and shot over the target.

Sorry for the long story but that pic brought back one of my best shooting memories.

back to the subject at hand...

I had a 59@28 Chaparral Alpine that i sold to a gang member. I use to call that bow "Money" because I would shoot against any compounder for money with it.

An old Rosewood Howatt Hunter that I bought from Humpy.  I ended up trading it back to him, and he got rid of it.  Very sweet bow!

Not a bow, but limbs.  I had a pair of 66" limbs that were the originals on my Wallace Mentor, 57# @ 28".  I sold them to somebody on here through the classifieds years ago, I didn't keep the records though.  I'd love to have those back!   :banghead:

I learned my lesson after selling a few firearms awhile back.Even tho I didn't use them they sure had alot of memories attached.Same with my Bamboo flyrods, just have a hard time bringing myself to get rid of any of them, even the ones I very rarely fish with.............so,I have not sold any of my bows, keeping them all because I know I'll regret selling any of them.

I had two bows I wish I had back. One was a bear grizzly I sold to help pay for my ex-wifes engagement ring, the other was a bear super mag, that I sold to pay my heating bill.  Both bows are wallhangers now and that just kills me.  I never got a chance to hunt with either one of those bows,  but that grizzly put some serious holes in my Mackenzie black bear.

1.  2 "B" handles that Fred signed for me
2.  Robertson take down I bought in '87 or '88
3.  Any of the numerous Bighorns that I bought
4.  Just one of the longbows I made... it's in Hawaii now....

Just remember, when we have finished this life, and it's time for us to go, there is only one thing that's important... it's not the wealth you have accumulated over the years... it's not the friends... not about popularity... it's all about how many bows you've got!  Nuff said! (forgive me Lord)
