Knife making for Dummies (Stupid Questions)
« on: February 07, 2009, 12:39:00 PM »
Being new to the whole knife making scene and reading several post in this forum I find myself confused by the terminology.  Could someone explain the quench, draw back and any other necessary vocabulary that goes into knife making?  Also are saw mill blades and leaf spring steel valuable resources for knife making?  Thank you for any feedback and I am looking forward to starting my own project knife soon.    :knothead:

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Thanks for the info.  I believe y'all have started something here as I find myself constantly glued to the screen and reading wanting to make my own knives.
