Yep, should have know us knife makers would post their own stuff mast. It's usually the reason we start in the first place. To get a better knife.
Yep, I agree prarie. Even Karl's early stuff was killer.
My goto is the first knife I ever made period. 30 years ago and I still carry it like it's one of my arms. 5" blade made from virgin W1 steel. Walnut and bone handle and boy is it beat up!
Finished it 2 weeks before season and skinned 3 deer (all 180lb 8 pointers) in 2 days without touching it to a stone. All taken out of my stand by my brother a neighbor and me I might add. Just had to brag. ;~)
Anyway, this is it.
If you look close you can see my initials (JDB) carved into the bone oval in the handle.
I told you it was beat up. Great knife, poor hammer. Most of that damage is from my Thompson 54cal BP tang.
