Patriot Knife
« on: March 18, 2009, 08:41:00 PM »
here's a design i've been working on for a couple months.  i patterned it after a japanese dagger for police, military, and heavy outdoor use.  it has a false edge on top, serrations, and a tapered butt for a glass breaker/skull crusher.  the blade is 5/32" thick and it's made from CPM S30V steel.  should be able to open a steel drum and still shave.  overall length is 9" and i'm working on a 10" model.  the sheath is kydex.  i'm not 100% happy with the sheath and i'll keep working on it.  a special thanks to tippit for the paracord wrap idea.  this knife is going to be a gift for one of my former students.  he joined the marines and is scheduled to be deployed in afghanistan in may.  he said he was the point man for his squad so i figured he may need all the help he can get to make it back safe.  i'm calling the patriot model and he's getting the first.

Outstanding! Hope he nevers has to use it but if he does it should serve him well. Tell him thank you for his service to our country.
