Power Hammer Coming to Boston
« on: May 21, 2009, 09:07:00 AM »
I've been looking for a power hammer ever since Doug allowed me to make up a damascus billet going on three summers ago.  In the last 24 hours, I've had several offers of a completely re-furbished Little Giant from Sid & Clay Spencer called me with an offer to deliver one of his 50# tire hammers.

My biggest problem has always been the cost of shipping a hammer from the mid west.  Seems Clay is coming to Maine to teach a course at The New England College of Metal Works.  He'll be going right by my house on his way north from Alabama...even better he'll set it up, demonstrate it, and explain all the the maintenance.

Since the ABS Great Smokey Mt Blade Symposium where I first saw the tire hammer, I have been thinking of building one with my son-in-law.  But with a their new baby on the way and his work with the fire dept, I knew that would be a long time coming.

So next Thursday, I'll get my "Baby" then wait til August to get my first Grand Baby            Doc

Can't wait to start doing This  :)

Nice piece of equipment Doc, you're gonna be pure hell on wheels when you get that thing going. It was great to finally meet you.
