MOUNTIAN MAN SKINNER WITH TRAPPERS ACCENT.
« on: September 07, 2009, 09:07:00 AM »
Well I use to trap when the $$ was good...and i was outta work. And i have made a few trap spring knives a few months back. Well I was cleaning up the shop(just a little)and came across the trap pans from tyhe the traps I used on the Trap spring knives. And the dim light bulb came on. this is what I came up with. I like it. I really like a spear point blade 5" oal is 9" great all around blade design IMO.But hey that me.<><

I like the "half-length" full tang design.  I've seen illustrations of a lot of period knives with the same construction.

Recycling the trap pan was a great idea!

That is a super cool knife!!

So please tell how did you attach the pan to the back of the handle?

I glued a walnut vaneer for spacers and then the pan. The glue I use is better the epoxy IMO. I love it. stick it. 99.5% oure CA. Very tough stuff.<><
