Thought y'all might like to see what I finished up this weekend and shipped today. Somewhere in South Dakota a lucky young bride will be getting some nice eating utensils. Her parents were guests here on the Ranch this summer and were looking at some of my knives. One evening at dinner they asked me if I could build a set of Damascus steak knives for them. They were looking for an heirloom wedding gift for their daughter and future Son-in-Law. Well after much discussing this is what they decided on. Damascus steel, full taper tang, buffalo horn scales and nickel silver pins.

And they'll double up as gutters and skinners if she wants...

Thats beatifull Doug.Lin had me try and make two identical a while back.That was hard,can't imagine 8

WOW that is heirloom quality for sure! Best thing is her parents had good taste for quality and to think and ask for such a gift! Good job! Wish my inlaws were that considerate! lol

I have a feeling those would start to dissapear from our kitchen. One on my belt, one in my Turkey huntin pack, one in the early season pack, one in the late season pack, etc!

Doug, that is one of the nicest sets I have ever seen! Awesome!

I too would like to hear if they have sheaths or a case of some sort.

Folks, there is a lesson hidden there, an extra one for insurance. When it has to be right, giving yourself some room for mistakes.

Thanks for the compliments everyone, they turned out nice but it got real tedious time I got them all done.

No sheaths for them, I would have liked to have done a nice "presentation" box and had several ideas but just don't have time. Got some serious business coming up in June that is requiring most of my attention. They planned to have something built for them.
