My second (officially) completed knife
« on: February 07, 2010, 11:22:00 PM »
So I haven't been on here in quite a while, but I thought I'd post pics of my latest project.  It's 1095 steel.  Overall length is about 8 1/2".  Handle is bolivian mahogany, hard maple, and paduk with 1/8" brass pins.  The sheath is just some scrap leather I got from a local guy.  I stamped the basketweave pattern and stitched it with artificial sinew.
I made this for my dad as a thank you gift.  He's been helping me out a lot on a few different projects I've had recently.  I have to admit, I'm a little jealous.  I think I need to make myself one now!

Anyway, here's the pics.  Enjoy!

ps.  the smudge on the top edge of the knife in the last pic is a fingerprint I didn't see till the picture was taken.  :knothead:

Great looking scales, i like the blade shape and the sheath. Im sure it will be way better than my second attempt. Good work

Looks great, that shape makes a very useful knife. I sure your Dad will like it.

Do you have a belt loop on the sheath?  That was one of my biggest problems.
