First forged bowie.
« on: February 25, 2010, 07:49:00 PM »
Here is my first forged bowie. It's a spear point,16" OA. The blade is 10" long 1/4" thick and 2" wide at the widest point. It was forged from an old truck spring. It has a polished elk handle.

Sorry for the bad pictures.White seems hard to capture.I wasn't able to show half the figure in the handle.

Randy that came out nice!  And as we know that particular old spring was some of the good stuff!

edited to add-  throw it on something black, anything will work... construction paper,  cardboard, inside of a "lined" tailgate etc...

My wife's sweater isn't the best background but it does allow me to show the actual color of the handle section. This is the first polished elk I have tried and I really like it.

Congrats!

Some nice lines on that bowie! Maybe  the handle grain would show up better if you were to photo it on my hip? Nice work Randy!
