Finally,..a couple of knives
« on: October 03, 2010, 08:36:00 PM »
But finally, I got in the shop for a couple of hours here and there, and it feels GOOD to finish these.
They both sport 3/16" 1084 carbon steel.  The smaller knife has a bone handle with red liners, one of my mosaic pins, and a polished blade.  I also made the arrowhead stamp that borders the stitching on the sheath.
The orange handled knife has textured G10 handles with black liners, and domed pins.  The blade has my matte hunter gray finish.  It is really almost black.  This knife was meant to be a no-nonsense hunting knife that you won't lose when laying it on the ground or if it is deep in a pack.
Both are very sturdy blades that could dig a hole!
I hope you like them, critique is allways welcome.
Thanks for your time.
Dan

Very nice!..I like'em both

Do you hand stitch your sheaths? They are very even, nice work.

Thank you for the kind words.  Yes Mater, hand stitched.  I predrill the holes so I can get the needle through.  I use an overstitching tool (I think that is what it is called) to evenly mark where each stitch will be, it looks like a little spur.

Dan,
Good to see you back at it.  The knives look as great as usual!  You offer the best custom knife for the bucks that I've ever found.  Thanks for what you do!
