Koa Hunter with Sunburst Damascus
« on: October 10, 2010, 05:50:00 PM »
This knife will become available 22 Oct. at Larry Bailey's Ohio Classic Knife Show.
 http://www.ohioknifeshow.com/
It's a 324 layer "Sunburst Random" of 1084 and 15N20.
I hot blued the blade and 1018 steel take-down fittings.
This thing dances all over the room.
One way I photographed it showed the chatoyance in the Stabilized Koa better, and the other way showed the chatoyance in the blade better!
I hope you enjoy going both ways.   ;)

When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Saweet!
What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.

That's a very special knife Karl. It grabs you. Good choice of material and treatments. Lin

Outstanding work, Karl on the second picture what did you do to the spine? If you can post a pic of the spine
nice job.  Thanks

I'm in awe of the talent you folks have.  Those are some lookers!
