The Talent here
« on: January 03, 2011, 09:57:00 AM »
Hey guys. I was brousing on the huge knife forum a few days back and spotted a couple members form this forum. These are the same guys who help us cobblers with tips and guidance putting our projects together so's we can at least cut warm butter.

A big congrats to Doug C. and Lin R. for having blades in the best bowie of 2010. These are nominated by the best smiths and collectors. Way to go guys, and thanks for all you do here.

I second that! It's amazing to have guys like Lin R., Scott Roush and many many more, that are willing to share their knowledge with those of us just getting started. Great job guys!

I can't agree more with you.  The talent here is amazing and when I first started looking I thought I may as well figure out a new hobby but these same guys who are in the top of this field readily give advice to newbies like me.  You are all true inspiration, thanks!

My Willow fighter was nominated too but I don't agree that it should have been included as a bowie (although I'm tickled somebody even thought of it)... Rodgrigo's knife wasn't one either... which had a similar blade shape to mine.  Maybe it's just mincing words but they might as well just call it Best Fighter....

I think one of Karl's was nominated as well...

Lin's sub-hilt was definitely in my top 5.

Doug.. I didn't see yours.. I will have to go back through the thread!

These guys give all us lesser mortals something to strive for.  Congrats on the nominations.

Scott, sorry I missed yours. Congrats on it as well. I'm just in awe of every one on that thread. The workmanship and detail are unbelivable.
