Well,at the request of a co-worker for a fishermans knife one time,I made one that looks like a fillet knife out of a sawmill blade (5/32 thick) because he wanted it made the same thickness as what I make all my other knives for general purpose use
(I don't know why) I did it anyway for him but I really wanted to thin it down or use some thinner stock that would be more flexible.I'd say the cross cut saw would be great for a fillet knife.
