damascus knives I just made
« on: February 12, 2011, 11:46:00 AM »
Here are two damascus knives I just finished.  I buy large billets from Alabama Damascus to make the blades from.
One has stabilized curly maple handle, the other has caribou antler.
Hope you like them!
Dan

Love the one with Caribou Antler!
The maple one's not bad either, but the dark metal and ivory handle is a killer combo!

Dan,  I really like that Caribou handled knife.  The shape of the handle flows nicely into the blade.  I picked up some remnant Alabama Damascus at the blade show.  Can you still get odd pieces from them?  Jeff

Thank you fellas.
Jeff, I don't know if you can get scraps from Al Damascus or not.  Their billets are reasonably priced.  I found I can get better prices if I call him and just have him mail me a billet, instead of buying at the blade show.
