stabilized walnut
« on: February 16, 2011, 08:31:00 PM »
Anyone know of a good source for some highly figured stabilized walnut? I also would like to know whether I should have some moose antler scales stabilized for more strength or whether it would be ok to use them as is? Thanks in advance! Jon

Jon,
I am a believer in stabilizing. I think Moose antler could be helped too. Not so much for strength as in stabilizing it from contraction and swelling. As for the Walnut, you may have to buy the raw materials and have it stabilized as you would the Moose. Lin
