I found some kaowool and "kiln cement" at a local pottery supply place. They also had ITC 100 (really good refractory cement), fire bricks, etc. If you can't find something local, there are a lot of places you can get it online, too.

A quick search of the online yellow pages shows a couple of refractory places in Fort Worth. There's a big industrial refractory place here in Memphis that I get it from. They usually deal with huge industrial orders and they weren't too eager to deal with me and my tiny needs at first, but I kept calling until I found a guy there who doesn't mind selling small amounts.

Dana,
Thanks... That's a very generous offer. I'm headed to Dallas on Monday and if I can't find something, I might get back with you if it's ok.
Thanks again,

I'm in the process of building a two burner gas forge myself and found the materials of all places in my local True Value hardware store.
