japanese blacksmith hammers

anyone have info on where i might be able to find japanese blacksmith hammers.

At one time Koka metals metalsmiths and Sunfish forge (Mississippi) made really good Japanese style hammers.   I tried to use one for a while,   but kept going back to my "English" style hammer.

I have one but like Lamey I just don't get the control of my regular hammers.  If you can't find one look up Brent Baily Forge.  His hammers are the best and he can make up anything you want.  Remember it's not Sears    but the quality is unbelievable.  It's not just something I happened upon, Mark Aspery uses them...tippit

Japanese style

 

Baily 3# with radiused edges, flat, & convex end for moving steel.  It is very forgiving and hits flat without any rocking (for me anyway).  I
use it 90% of the time.

Another guy that makes some great hammers is James Joyce in CA.  Ive been using one of his English style hammers for 10+ years and love it.
