Timbersaw steel blade.

Just finished this one up. 11.1/8" oal. Started out 1/4"thick from a very old 56" timbersaw blade.very beefy and sharp and fit right snug in hand. The handle is Texas post oak burl.<><

Thanks Guys. I gotta say I really love the Texas post oak burl.Great handle wood and looks crazy ona rustic style knife.

Thanks Frank, you'd better keep all you have. You turn out about twenty times the blades as I ever get done. Pretty cool lookin wood. Be sure to post a pic if you do a stained one.

Looks really great to me, Frank. But I am a big fan of yours, as you know. I agree that the wood is very nice and does have a rustic look that goes well with the old saw blade steel.

When you say "timbersaw" are you talking about something like this?

 

This was in the barn when we moved here.  In fact, it made the barn boards from local hemlock.  The frame was wood and has returned to earth, and most of the hardware (with old-style square nuts) was scavanged before I owned the place.  This is 26" x 1/8".  Is there a knife blank or 20 in this saw?
