A Knife for John, Step-By-Step
« on: May 06, 2011, 10:58:00 AM »
A fellow Trad Gang member wanted me to make another copy of the Randall Gamemaster knife I posted while back. First thing I requested from John was an outline of his right hand to determine handle size, and then I started on flat piece of D2 tool steel
Hollow grinding was added next
Blade was then Heat treated and annealed to Rockwell 60C
John picked a nice piece of dyed Giraffe bone for the handle. Prior to mirror polish I usually fit all parts together to make sure I have a quality fit
Knife blade was then polished, brass guard silver soldered, and handle re-assembled for the home stretch

That is impressive!!!!  Great pics and what a piece of art that turned out to be!

Thanks for showing that!
