when i buy a piece of 440c that is not hardened can i drill holes sand it like 1095 or is it a lot harder or about the same. thank you jackie

If it is annealed then you will be able to drill and sand it like any other piece of unhardened steel.

if a buy it from a knife supplier as a flat piece will it be annealed steel thank you
