Both blades are hafted to proximal phalanx bones. The Perdnales chert blade knapped by Dan Theus is mounted with pine pitch and backstrap sinew. It has a braintan buckskin wrist thong with a tooth adjuster.
The steel blade is forged by fellow tradganger Ben Tendick. It is mounted with Vantico structural epoxy and is over wrapped with Woodchuck rawhide that has been given a coat of West System epoxy. It features a triple braided wrist thong of buckskin with a tooth adjuster. A very sharp and sturdy little tool.
The neck type sheath is rawhide lined with buckskin. It is stitched with twisted Woodchuck rawhide and edge laced with twisted Fox squirrel rawhide. The fringe is buckskin. The neck thong is triple braided buckskin with a couple Elk ivories.
My girlfriend told me it looked like a squashed critter, I guess that could be a compliment
