Filework Fleur de lis?
« on: August 30, 2011, 04:03:00 PM »
Has anyone seen fleur de lis filework?  It seems like I'd need a fairly beefy spine to get it to look good.

WA. This is arrowheads, you may need to save it and then blow it up, here is it again and another one

This one is vine work

Both of them are on 3/16" blades

I bet you can do it. The tricky part would be to get the height and width proportional. Here's a cross I did on the spine for my hunting buddy's knife.

You could always do an inlay in the wood handle or on the butt of the handle. I did this one on a bow I built.

I actually have that cross picked out for the knives I'm doing for my brothers.  I'll likely use it on my wife's chef knife as well.  After looking at the blade, I don't think the spine is going to be wide enough to get a fleur de lis to look good.  The inlay idea is nice tho...  hmm...
