hardening 440c stainless steel

have been googling on how to harden 440c. many many ways. could some one tellme how they harden 440c in a kiln  do you soak it at a certain temperature then at a higher temp for how long. then temper at temperature for how long. would like to reach a hardness of 56 - 58. would really appreciate some help.  thank you jackie

ok will this work . if i set kiln to 1850 -1950 degrees after it reaches temperature place my 3/32 knife blade for about 6 minutes then air quench between two aluminum plates. then temper for two two hour cycles in toaster oven at about 400 degrees. this is sort of what i have googled and checked the search on trad gang.   thankyou jackie
