One For Me...
« on: September 14, 2011, 09:32:00 PM »
I just finished this caper/small game hunter.  The blade is reclaimed saw steel that was clay quenched, etched in vinegar, and then rubbed with pumice powder and water on my fingertip.  The scales are of streaked horn with a frost finish.  The sheath has been ebonized (i.e. blackened) using the etching solution the blade was treated in and then waxed.

I don't seem to post anything really different like some of you fellas, but thanks for looking nonetheless.

Good looking little knife you've got there.  Great job.

You put a lot of thought in your finish and your pin placement and pin size. Very nice work.

LOOKS GREAT, and you should not think of all yours being the same as much as that anybody on the site that looks at knives could see one of yours without knowing who built it and yet they would know you built it cuz its your style.

We all have a style.  I really like yours.  Very nicely done.   I like the look of the horn a lot.
