Pair of bears
« on: December 27, 2011, 05:14:00 PM »
Built these for tatersalad and his son as momentos of their sucessful Black bear hunt together. They are made from the femur bone of the bear tatersalad killed with his recurve. His son took a B&C as well with a rifle.
It's a been a great privilege to make these. Ben Tendick made the blades, I hafted them and made the sheaths. I did the turquiose fill on the claws as well.

That's some nice work for sure. I'd be proud to own one of those.

Wow Charles, those really came out fantastic! I think those are by far the nicest sheaths I have seen from you yet. I am glad to have been a small part of this project, and look forward to future collaborations.

Steve, Thanks, Moscow hide and fur usually.

Ben, as always, a real pleasure working with you and I will be getting some more of your fine blades soon. I don't think my pic's do your work justice, particularly the filework.

Charles and Ben

Thanks again for your beatuiful work on these knives.  You've created a family keepsake that will be handed down for generations to come.  I'll send pics of the knives in use.

Take care.
