Canadian Knifemakers Guild Show Knives
« on: March 08, 2012, 08:40:00 PM »
Hello All,

This weekend is the annual Canadian Knifemakers Show, where members of the guld can display and sell their knives.  It is the largest show in Canada, but small compared to many of the shows in the US.

I have a couple of orders to finish up next week, then I will be taking a break from knifemaking.  Perparing for this show has burnt me out.  Too many late night caused by a demanding day job, large back log of knife orders, and some poor per planning.  I should recover in a week or two.

Here is what I am bring and I hope you all enjoy the photos.

10" Chopper

8" Fighter

6" Recurve Camp

6" Camp

5" Hunter

3-3/4" Hunter

5" Hunter

3-1/2" Hunter

Thank you for looking,

James

Wow! very nice, you should do well
What is life? It is the flash of a firefly in the night. It is the breath of a buffalo in the wintertime. It is the little shadow which runs across the grass and loses itself in the sunset.

I think you should do very well.
That is an awesome line up right there.
When the last deer disappears into the morning mist,
When the last elk vanishes from the hills,
When the last buffalo falls on the plains,
I will hunt mice for I am a hunter and I must have my freedom.

Thank you everyone,

It was a great show.  Next year I need to get the word out soon, so hopefully some of you Tradgang guys can come.

This was my first show and I am a bit overwhelmed.  It was great talking with the collectors and other makers.  I about lost it when they annouced my name for the best hunter (5" hunter above), then again for the best fixed blade (8" Fighter).  Now I have been re-energized and feel the many hours in making these knive has been worth it to me.

Thank you all again,

James

James, man! fellow Canadian. Well done.
But you're going to take a break. No doubt well earned, but...
That 5" Hunter is going to be on my mind for a bit. I'm saving for a Randall 25 5 but that knife(or one like it) could change my mind. Should I PM you for a price check? Can't be in a hurry as there's a new bow on the way, but I'd like to begin the conversation.
Just read your last post! No doubt best hunter!
Way to go.

Great work as usual. The 3 and 3/4" hunter would be my first choice, with the 5" a close second. Congrats on a job well done and the recognition to boot. Well deserved. Goodness, we've got some talented people on this site for sure.
