Spearpoint for "Redshaft"
« on: March 17, 2012, 10:54:00 PM »
Here is a custom blade I just finished up for our fellow T-ganger Redshaft. It is a spearpoint hunter with a antiqued blade finish and some superb curly maple. OAL is 8.75" with a 4.5" blade of .125" L6.
The sheath is 10oz veg tan.
Hope you like it!

Very nice! what type of stain did you use on the maple?

Boy, is that ever pretty!  Great job on that blade, Ben!  The whole package just begs to be used.   :)

Nice work Ben!  The knive has so many cool details and the texture on the sheath completes the package nicely.

Nice knife.  It looks like a drop point to me.  Which I prefer for a hunting knife.  Not being critical just curious what makes it a spear point for you Ben?  The maple looks great.

Thanks guys, all the colors and textures really came together well on this one I think.

I guess I consider a spearpoint to A. have the tip in the centerline of the knife and B. to have nearly the same lines on the top and bottom of the blade. But that is probably just my interpretation.
All I know is, it is Sharp and pointy!  :)
