Preparing for Your First Show
« on: May 22, 2012, 10:37:00 AM »
A friend and I are going to do our first show at a Gun and Knife Expo in September. My impression of these shows is that my selling range should be in the $75-$150 range. I am planning to invest in the device and software to be able to take credit cards on my Iphone. What advice do you have for the following:

- Setting up tax id, LLC business, etc
- Show insurance (I see Blade requires some coverage)
- Table display, decoration
- Blade finishing, handle materia and sheaths for this price range of knife

Thanks in advance.

I'm interested in information about LLC or Sole propetership too!

My advise is to keep the business side of things as simple as possible, especially at first.

A table cloth is nice as is individual mats for each knife along with clear but discreet pricing. A photo album is nice and also some nice business cards.

Stand up as much as possible, eye level with folks. Dont be eating or reading a book while folks are at your table. Greet people and make eye contact.

Pricing is a difficult thing to advise.
