Small Gents Bowie from Potomac Forge (Sheath photo added)
« on: July 27, 2012, 08:09:00 PM »
Just finished this knife, I'm keeping it I think!

Forged 1084 clay quenched and etched. 4" blade, 8 1/8" OAL. File worked mild steel guard.  Two tone stained curly maple coffin handle with silver wire and domed silver pin in the shield, and scallop work. Tung oil finish. I will make a fancy pouch sheath for it soon.  The background is a Possible's Bag a friend of mine made for me that I will use this season.

Visit here often but don't usually comment. Had to this time. That's just incredible.

Just finished the sheath, first time making this style.  Basswood lined, 8-9 oz leather with some tooling with a stained whitetail antler shield.

Well, it was supposed to be a right side carry!  Best made plans.....  Turned out to be a lefty!
