Red Neck Hog Skinner
« on: January 20, 2013, 08:15:00 PM »
I'm really enjoying my winter down South.  Been meeting some interesting locals...one that wants to take hog hunting with dogs.  The twist is they tie the hogs up, take 'em home, and fatten 'em up.  I'm trying hard to get the back of my neck sunburn so I'll start by carring my hog & beer blade   :)    tippit

Doc pic are to big. I resized.

That's a nice one doc. Like the color on the antler.<><

Wow I love that knife!  The stag is a great color and your flaired finger guard is really well done!

I may get to meet Joe Keesler this fall, and watch him forge some knives.  I will be paying close attention!

One of my favorites you have ever made, Jeff. I love the same things about it that Frank and Steve talk about. Since I don't drink beer or pretty much anything else that requires a bottle opener, I'd want the tang on mine to follow the curve of the stag handle. The polished flair and main part of the blade, along with the bright pins, really give great contrast to the dark scale on the rest of the blade that brings out the dark portions of the stag antler. What is the steel (52100 maybe)? The dimensions look perfect. When do you start on mine?   :saywhat:

Nice one Doc!  You have a style all your own.  I like it.

Hey, there's a sharp pointy thing on the end of your bottle opener!
Very cool.

D.Ellis,
The beauty of this bottle opener is the sharp pointy thing stays in the sheath while you open your bottle.  I've made them before with the opener on the spine of the blade...Warning 2 Beer Limit before possible Serious Damage to Appendages  :biglaugh:

Very Nice!  I really like the style.  I am not much of a knife guy, but I really like this one.  Love the bottle opener.

That looks like a Bayou Jack Special Jeff.  With my friends I'd probably wear out the opener before I would dull the blade   :biglaugh:
