52100 Chopper
« on: February 02, 2013, 01:41:00 PM »
Guess I'll blame this one on Lin       ;)       He kinda talked me into entering the cutting contest that's in cojunction with the Show in a couple weeks. I've probably chopped half a pickup load of wood and no telling how many feet of rope and it's held up well. Don't have any aspirations of competing with the "real" choppers but should be a good test for my knife forging and edge geometry. So anyway if your looking for a good laugh come on down and watch.       ;)

10" thru tang blade, .270" thick just ahead of the guard, fairly sharp clip, stainless guard/butt cap and hand full of elk antler.

Thanks for looking!

Doug your Pics are way to big. please size.

I really like that one!All of these Bowie threads has got me itching to try to do another one. My first one is UGLY! But it's mine and does hold an edge well enough to gut a couple deer.

That's a workin' beauty right there.  It looks like you've put it through its paces for sure.

Doug,

I sure like it and am reminded of a certain 52100 Bowie I have sitting next to me right now that bears your mark.

Doug,
Great looking chopper!  You'll have to bring that to the Great Smoky Mountain Hammer-in so we can try the cutting contest together.  Mine isn't as pretty so I'll probably have to wear a mask

That's a good looking blade. Just about the perfect size for an all purpose bowie in my opinion. I like the elk antler too.

I don't know that I agree with your self assessment Doug---it looks like a real competitor to me.  A very nice knife. Good luck in the show.
