White Iron Camp Knife

Here's an interesting result of hamon creation. I did almost no clay application at all. Very tiny, thin, almost not-even-there clay wisps on the blade.
Those little renegade dots/dashes just above the cutting edge were a complete surprise to me and I'm glad they exposed themselves well during the etch.
I'm a big personal fan of this knife.

Karl, that is very cool!  I love every detail!  Interesting I sketched a very similar blade profile with a different handle and guard.

It would seem you are very comfortable in your new shop!

That knife rocks! The hamon is awesome no doubt. One subtle feature you didn't mention is the way you oriented the wood on the handle. The growth rings are centered in the middle of the handle so the spalting seems to radiate from the center of the handle. Very cool.

The block is end grain.
Cut like a slice of bread off the loaf end rather than with the log's length.

I particularly like this blade profile...you've done a couple like this lately if I recall.  It has real flow and eye appeal.  I also like the orientation of that handle material...it reinforces the blade very nicely.  It just might be my new favorite you've posted.  :)

I love it.  Does the blade have a slight recurve to it, or is that an optical illusion.  I'm thinking it may be a combination of the curve/angle of the handle and the arched spine that makes it look that way.  Either way, it looks awesome.
