A couple of new knives
« on: April 05, 2013, 03:12:00 PM »
I did not make these blades.  I don't have the tools yet to do so but I did finish them and make up sheaths.

First time posting pics so hopefully this works.

Nice job! That's how I got started but I still have a loooong way to go! Your sheaths look real good too!

I agree with these guys.  That's how I got started as well.  If you get ready to start making blades, I was able to build a pretty nice grinder for around $500.  Not as pretty as one you can buy, but a lot cheaper and it works great if you don't mind spending some time putting it together.  Your leather looks outstanding by the way.  You definitely have talent in that area.

Keep at it,
Matt

You do realize there is no cure for the knifemaking bug?.......much like the Trad Bow virus.........you are stuck with it once infected.  :readit:    :D
As already stated, good work and very nice leather.

Well all this started from a dang pvc bow on a youtube video which led to making around 6 bows.  Those needed arrows of course and what can I put those in but a quiver.  Hence the leather and now after a couple of sheaths I find that to be most proud of a blade I'll need to make it myself.  It never stops but hey, I'm never bored.

Thanks for the compliments on the leather.  I've been doing nothing but leather all winter so it's getting better.  My buddy is a photo hobbyist so for giving him the first knife he does all my photos for me.

Nice work on the leather!
Buying blades to finish is what got me hooked too.
