New elk knife I made
« on: May 22, 2013, 08:10:00 PM »
Here is a few pics of the knife I just completed. Thanks to my buddy and mentor Dave Ricke for the help and guidance. The blade stock is produced by Doug Ponzio, when I saw it by Dave`s shop, I had to have one. This is what we came up with. Thanks for peeking.

Dyed elk antler scales, stainless bolster. My first attempt at stippling and filework. Dave did the etch on the blade & bolster

That's one of my favorite handle shapes - no long guard to get in the way, but still a positive stop for your hand. Nice, clean work with the dovetailed bolsters.

I too like the dovetailed bolsters and the tapered tang is classy.
